Now, in a recent Instagram post, UFC fighter Abubakar Nurmagomedov has taken a dig at Conor McGregor. The Russian fighter took to social media to share a picture of his cousin, Khabib Nurmagomedov, choking ‘Notorious’ during their fight. Along with the photo, the fighter wrote, “The horn of the lamb.”

Abubakar Nurmagomedov clearly meant the post as a dig towards McGregor. ‘Notorious’ and Khabib Nurmagomedov have always shared a great rivalry. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that Abubakar Nurmagomedov posted this picture just hours before the UFC 264 event.

‘The Eagle’ and McGregor had faced each other at the UFC 229 event. Nurmagomedov had won that fight via a 4th round submission. After his fight with McGregor, Khabib Nurmagomedov fought two more times in the Octagon before retiring with an MMA record of 29-0.
Meanwhile, McGregor recovered from his loss against Nurmagomedov as he defeated Donald Cerrone in his next fight. However, McGregor could not continue that momentum and lost in his next fight against Dustin Poirier.
What to expect from the UFC 264 clash between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier?
McGregor will face Dustin Poirier at the main event of UFC 264. This fight will be the third between the two fighters, with ‘The Diamond’ winning their latest clash at UFC 257. Therefore, coming into the fight, Poirier, who would be very confident, will look to repeat his UFC 257 performance.

Meanwhile, McGregor will look to eliminate the debacle that was UFC 257. The fighter will look to defend the calf-kicks from Poirier as they were the main reason for his loss. ‘Notorious’ will also look to focus less on boxing and go back to traditional MMA and the style that made him such a success in the UFC.
