UFC Fight Night 69 and UFC Fight Night 70 have been in the news due to the wrong reasons. The hot topic of discussion after the event was not the fighter’s skills but their gear. The two events saw UFC female fighters suffering some unforeseen events which unfortunately resulted in them losing focus and losing the fight.
However, the questions that are raised are whether there needs to be a change in the fighting gear for women in the UFC. There seems to be a variety of opinions regarding this from the fans. Similarly, UFC’s ‘Harley Quinn’ has come up with her own reasoning for the topic.

UFC’s own ‘Harley Quinn’ has come to the aid of female UFC fighters. The UFC bantamweight sent a message via a tweet after the discussion of woman’s fight gear was trending after Jessica Andrade‘s wardrobe malfunction.
Jessica-Rose Clark tweeted, “Agreed. But to be fair, you can get the tops altered. I ALWAYS get my fight top altered with added material at the top and underarms. That’s why I’ve never had a malfunction. They do still f**ken suck though. Shouldn’t need to get your fight bra altered”

This tweet comes after the promotion saw a couple of moments that called for the fans to raise questions about the female gear used in UFC. The fight between Montana De La Rosa and Tatiana Suarez also became controversial as De La Rosa had a near slip-up during the fight. Moreover, she went on to lose the fight to Suarez and hence became the topic of discussion for the fans.

Just a week before De La Rosa‘s loss to Suarez, Jessica Andrade went head-to-head with Blanchfield. The fight also saw a wardrobe malfunction due to which Andrade lost her concentration and focus. Subsequently, she went on to lose the bout to Blanchfield.
After the fight, the Brazilian fighter said, “This is not an excuse, but when she came for the takedown, I lost focus. Because when she moved in, she put her shoulder just under my top and my breast completely slipped out. I lost focus and forgot to counter”.

The questions begged to be asked if the UFC will change the outfit and gear for female fighters. It remains to be seen what will happen in this issue.
