Dricus Du Plessis just got a clap back from Khamzat Chimaev, and it was a pretty harsh one. He is the new UFC middleweight champion and has been going back and forth with the Dagestani fighter for quite some time now. Chimaev is gearing up for UFC 308 and has even changed up his training for the next event after enduring several setbacks due to illness. He was off to a smoldering beginning, scoring two finishes in 10 days and even defeating Kamaru Usman. Some fans already feel that “Borz” should be a UFC champion by now; however, his health was holding him back.
The fighter has realized the problem, and it has to do something with getting more rest. Apart from figuring this out, he has also given a strong call out to DDP with a scathing remark.

‘Borz’ was pretty calm and said, “ This is his peak now. You could say that [Dricus] is a bad version of me. I’ll be back soon and I’ll take him down. For me, [Dricus] is much more convenient than other fighters. Sean Strickland gets up well and [Dricus] he’s a wrestler but more physical. We have the technique, wrestling, and counter-wrestling to take him down and hold him. And he knows it himself, that’s why he’s silent about me.”
This is not the first time that the Russians decided to call Du Plessis out. Previously, during their interaction, he made an insulting remark about his opponent. He had said, “We need to get that title back for the normal people, man. This g*y champion has the belt now.“ This audio clip had managed to reach the middleweight champion on social media, and he had fired back, poking fun at the lack of Chimaev’s activity inside the octagon.

“They now let me rest and recover properly,” Chimaev told in an interview with Hustle. He further added, “I used to go to the gym and just train until I was done. But then I ended up in the hospital like the last time when I was in the hospital three times in a row within three weeks. My immune system went down; I got sick. Now, I use a better approach. I work with good coaches and raised a lot of world champions… I am going to take a big step forward.”
