Fans were surprised that Rousey didn’t choose to take the fight to the ground. Instead, she decided to trade blows with a kickboxer. Finally, in round 2, Holm did the impossible by landing a beautifully timed head kick which knocked out Rousey.
This was the start of the end for Rousey’s UFC career. She tried to avenge her loss by fighting for the title against Amanda Nunes. But again, she fell short after Nunes knocked her out in the first 48 seconds of the first round. She retired from the UFC after this fight and switched to the WWE.
