While many mixed martial artists have struggled with money, the ‘Notorious’ has been on an exponential rise. He was listed among the highest-paid athletes in the world of combat sports. Sean O’Malley aspired to be like Conor McGregor
In episode #218 of the Timbo Sugar Show, Tim Welch hinted that most of the UFC fighters have struggled with financial problems. Especially when a fighter has to take care of his family, but fighting is probably the sole income. He revealed how difficult it was for the fighters to go on with an annual income of around $24,000, which was without payment to the managers and medications, et cetera.
Furthermore, Welch said, “It’s like not a comfortable living. Unless you’re a rare superstar.” Without a doubt, O’Malley could feel what his coach and fellow podcaster tried to say. He hinted at the highest-paid athlete in the UFC.
In response to Welch’s words, ‘Sugar’ said, “That’s what I wanted. And it was funny because I watched Conor blow up and that’s kind of like what I wanted. I wanted to come and take over the sport. And then Conor did it.”

Following McGregor’s trends, O’Malley declared that he would launch a marijuana business, believing a huge potential to reach a worth of about $100 million in the venture.
