When he is working, Joe Rogan is one of the most influential figures in the world of comedy, podcasting, and even MMA. However, when the 55 years old UFC commentator is not working, you can label him as being a big-time dog lover. Time and again, Rogan has expressed love for his dog, Marshall.
Recently, Rogan had Ms. Pat as his guest on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, episode #1978. Ms. Pat, also known as Patricia Williams is an American standup comedian, actress, and podcast host. Toward the end of the 2-hour-long discussion, Rogan comes across Pat’s Instagram video, where she shows her enormous doghouse that is built for her Pit Bulls. Seeing this, Rogan quickly starts giving his expert advice about dogs.

Rogan started off by mentioning the importance of attention that Pit Bulls require. According to him, Pit Bulls are a breed that needs constant attention and someone to discipline them. As per the popular podcaster, this is because of the “alpha” mentality of the breed. “Somebody’s gotta be on them all the time. It’s like you got three alphas living with you. And they wanna run sh*t. You gotta impose discipline on them,” Rogan said.
Furthermore, Rogan compared Pit Bulls to his Golden Retriever, who, according to him, is a sweetheart to everyone who comes to his house. He said that he never had to worry about his Golden Retriever being aggressive or sketchy, unlike his previous Pit Bulls.
“You never have to worry about him being aggressive. He is a sweetheart to everyone coming over to the house. If you came to the house, it’s like he has known you his whole life and hasn’t seen you in a year. He starts wagging his tail circling you. He is so happy. I don’t have to worry about it. I love this dog. That’s what I love about him.”

Rogan also recalled having raised Pit Bulls earlier, labeling them dangerous. “I have had dogs in the past, had a bunch of Pit Bulls, had a Mastiff. The Pitbulls were the most sketchy. You couldn’t f*ck with them. You couldn’t in any way test them.”
