The UFC saw itself getting piled up with endless public drama by the end of the year 2022. These episodes include fighters beefing with celebrities, to fighters getting accused of pre-fixing their bout. Another type of drama that UFC was involved in was fighters leaving the promotion. That fighter was none other than Francis Ngannou, UFC’s former heavyweight champion of the world. Ngannou was having several problems with his contract with the promotion. The problem grew bigger as soon as he became the champion. Ngannou being vocal about the issue made UFC president Dana White take actions that proved harmful for his promotion.

Recently, in an interview with The Schmo, UFC veteran Tim Kennedy spoke up about the controversy. The retired UFC fighter addressed the issue while also mentioning his disappointment with White. The disappointment pertains to the way that the UFC president handled Ngannou and his demands. Kennedy made it pretty clear that there were different ways that the 53-year-old should have taken to handle the situation well.

In a video interview with the reporter ‘The Schmo’ or Dave Schmulenson, the UFC veteran was featured. In his recent video, he asked Tim Kennedy several interesting questions. “What do you think of the UFC and the baddest man on the planet, Francis Ngannou, not coming to terms and he’s no longer part of the UFC?” asked the reporter. Kennedy replied with a very honest answer.

The former UFC Middleweight fighter began by telling his upset from UFC, “this is something that I’ve always struggled with the UFC, it’s how they treat talent.” The ex-fighter then goes ahead to empathize with the fact that Francis Ngannou was not getting paid enough. However, that wasn’t even the concern put up by ‘The Predator’. Kennedy felt that the promotion made sure Conor McGregor was given the things he needed, but didn’t do so with Ngannou.

That’s something that they did with Conor,” added Kennedy, accepting that White was not treating their Heavyweight champion the same way they treated Conor McGregor.

Instead, Kennedy offered an alternate road that the UFC should’ve taken to keep Ngannou with them: “at some point, you gotta start treating your athletes with the respect that an athlete deserves.

Where did it all go wrong between UFC and Ngannou?
