Khabib Nurmagomedov, the former UFC champion, believes it is “unnecessary” to have ring girls in martial arts. Hence, he doesn’t allow ring girls in his own MMA venture, the Eagle FC. His decision received backlash from many people. However, former welterweight fighter Diego Sanchez doesn’t fall under this bracket.

‘Nightmare’ shortly after his departure from UFC signed a deal with Nurmagomedov’s Eagle FC. He is yet to make his debut in the promotion. Sanchez believes ‘The Eagle’ is the right person and will bring back honor to the sport. Hence, despite being 40-year-old, Sanchez will compete in his promotion.

Not only that, but ‘Nightmare’ also backed Nurmagomedov‘s decision, which was not appreciated by many. In an interview with Amy Kaplan of FanSided MMA, Sanchez said, Class different levels of class.”

“He doesn’t want ring girls in there, there’s no ring girls, you know what I mean? And no disrespect to the ring girls, you know, like that’s Vegas, and that’s selling s*x.” 

“He’s aware of that and he’s like that’s not what I want to do in Eagle FC. You know, Khabib has been real big on his faith. You know he has a mountain of faith in God, and that’s the man I am, too,” he added. 

“Even though our belief systems maybe a little different, we both believe in a God and so to be able to come into Eagle FC, get my opportunity to fly like an eagle and spread my message. My message is a God message.” Sanchez concluded.

Who will Diego Sanchez fight in Eagle FC?

‘Nightmare’ with a 3-2 record in his last five UFC fights, retired from the promotion. However, we will soon see him compete in Eagle FC. The former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov bought this promotion after retiring from professional fighting.

Eagle FC also recently had his first event on American soil in January 2022. The promotion is garnering a lot of attention from the fight fans and one of the best in the fight business, that to Nurmagomedov’s fame and entrepreneur skills.

‘The Eagle’ has signed many notable names including UFC legend Rashad Evans and former UFC lightweight Kevin Lee. The latter will clash against Sanchez in the main event of Eagle FC 46 on March 11 in a 165 lbs bout.
