Betty White was 88 years old when she became the oldest individual to host Saturday Night Live. Larry King hosted Larry King Live until he was 77. Andy Rooney was 92 when he retired from CBS’ 60 Minutes. Now think podcasts; think Joe Rogan. How long do you expect the world’s leading podcaster to keep up his game? If you had to guess, when would/should he retire? The answer might surprise you.
With a combined following of over 60 million people on social media, Joe Rogan elevated the awareness and popularity of podcasting through his Joe Rogan Expereince. It has been more than a decade since the multi-millionaire podcaster embarked on his podcasting journey, but when will he retire from his profession? According to Rogan himself, he might never retire from it.
While having a conversation with outdoorsman, conservationist, and writer Steven Rinella on episode #2258, Joe Rogan emphasized that people do ask him about his retirement. Still, if it’s up to him, he will do his work forever. “Yeah, that’s nonsense. I don’t want to relax,” said Rogan. Well, this response from the podcaster forced Rinella to ask Rogan, “How long would you do this podcast?“

After laughing a bit, Joe Rogan emphasized, “This is the easiest thing I do, really. I’ll do this forever. It’s so easy to do. Yeah, as long as I’m actually interested in talking to the people. How hard is that? Actually interested? Yeah, but that’s the only reason why I do it anyway. Like, I only talk to people I want to talk to. No one ever tells me ‘Have this person on your show.’ There’s literally zero input from anyone else.”
Joe Rogan invites guests from a wide range of fields. One day, you might find him having a conversation with the President of the United States, while the next, he could be chatting with a UFC fighter or a world-renowned scientist. This versatility sets Rogan apart from other podcasters, who often stick to a more predictable pattern.
Joe Rogan started his podcast back in 2009, and it has been quite a long time since his small gig grew into one of the biggest podcast channels in the world. However, does fame affect Joe Rogan like it affected other celebs? Let’s find out.

Joe Rogan drops huge confession on growing popularity and his views on it
To give you a simple example, Ellen DeGeneres was at the top of the talk show world a few years ago, but her popularity took a massive hit when certain people within the industry claimed that the host was rude toward her staff and sometimes even to the guests as well. Talking about this the podcaster emphasized that she, “Fell apart. Disappeared because people found [out],” said Rogan. Luckily this is not the case for Rogan.
In this same conversation with Rinella, Joe Rogan emphasized that he knows that his audience loves him and he certainly takes care of them as well. “I get it. You know, especially if you don’t know anyone famous. The thing about podcasts, too, is that you’re so intimately connected to that person because you hear that person talk all the time. I do four of these a week, so it’s like they’re hearing me, you know, some 12 hours a week of me talking to you. Yeah, it’s a lot.”

Well, unnecessary fame has always been an aching pain for the podcaster as no matter what he says becomes sensational news. It must be noted that his podcast with Donald Trump was one of the reasons why Trump became a sensation among young voters overnight.
So how long do you see Rogan continue this ride? State your thoughts in the comments below.
