In his short duration with the UFC, Sean O’Malley has become one of the most famous fighters from the promotion. His fan following is so massive that it conditions the UFC to put his fights on the main card. Whereas it pushes legends like Dominick Cruz to the preliminaries. Some think it’s due to his wild hairstyle and tattoos, others believe that it’s due to his charm. Meanwhile, Joe Rogan and Marlon Vera talk over the same in a recent encounter.
In the latest episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Marlon Vera and Joe Rogan were discussing diets and weight cuts. Whilst they pondered over how fighters trash talk, Rogan asked ‘Chito’ if there was anyone who pissed him. Vera replied in the negative, however, he did mention Sean O’Malley.

Here’s how the conversation ensued. “Has there ever been a fighter that, like, leading up to a fight, has pissed you off?” Rogan asks.
‘Chito’ responded, “Never, and I fought the biggest idiot out there- O’Malley. He was talking mad sh*t.”
“But that’s his thing though, you know, that’s how he became famous.”
“Him and Conor, he’s like Colby, he uses a persona,” Vera replied as he believes that O’Malley’s on-screen persona is the reason he shot to fame so quickly in the UFC.

Although ‘Sugar’ is a great trash talker and maintains a sizeable social media presence, he isn’t just all talk. Out of the 16 bouts he has won, 11 have been knockouts.
However, the fighter is not undefeated. In his sixth appearance in the UFC ‘Sugar’ faced his first and only defeat, yet, against Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera. Contrastingly, compared to his previous performances, O’Malley was no match for Vera. The match concluded in the opening round itself, as Vera TKO’d ‘Sugar’ in the last seconds of the first round.
