Is Conor McGregor's fighting career over, or can he still make a legendary comeback?

If taking shots at Ilia Topuria wasn’t enough, Conor McGregor decided to fire some more shots at another UFC champion, Belal Muhammad. After all, McGregor hasn’t stopped expressing contempt for ‘Bully B’s’welterweight title triumph at UFC 304. However, Muhammad responded back with a jibe of his own, suggesting McGregor get some medical treatment.

Belal Muhammad aimed at Conor McGregor, claiming that the Irishman may not have been coherent enough when he dished out some trash talk towards him. McGregor expressed wanting to hit him with “a left hook,” which made the welterweight king claim that ‘The Notorious’ was being delusional. “Like you said, there’s something in the air, right? I think that’s c***ine. [chuckles] This guy is always high or drunk. The only way that he’s gonna imagine that beating [on] me is if he’s high or drunk,” Muhammad told ‘Submission Radio’.

There have been growing concerns about the probability of Conor McGregor‘s comeback happening soon. Dana White claims they’re targeting early 2025, but Belal Muhammad claims that certain questionable lifestyle choices could force him to stop fighting. Instead, ‘Remember the Name’ believes that McGregor needs some medical attention.

“He won’t be coming back to 170. He won’t be coming back to fighting, I think [and] He needs to go back to rehab… somebody needs to help this guy,” Belal Muhammad added. Meanwhile, another former welterweight, Jorge Masvidal, has cast doubts on a probable McGregor comeback, and guess what? He referenced the same things Muhammad did.

Even Jorge Masvidal believes Conor McGregor may never return

Three years is a long time and, if your name is not Jon Jones, making a return after such a layoff has never proven to be the wisest decision for most UFC fighters. However, Conor McGregor has continued to claim that he’s not summing up his career anytime soon, but Jorge Masvidal isn’t buying that. He believes that the only place where we can see the former ‘champ champ’ fight would be at a bar.

“We’ll see him at a bar and shit,” Gamebred told MMA Fighting’. “Are you talking about in the cage? Like as an official or to be judges? You mean fighting? I don’t think so. I hope he proves me wrong but I don’t think so.” Masvidal further added. Conor McGregor has been a pretty busy businessman, with his multiple alcoholic beverage brands, among many others, and has actively taken up the role of part-owner and vice president of the BKFC. He’s playing on big bucks and as Dana White said, it is impossible to return to fighting when someone makes the kind of money McGregor has been making, especially because people change with that kind of money.
