Chris Padilla went to war at UFC London against Jai Herbert, recording a third UFC win. However, the taste of victory came at a steep price as the Lynwood native incurred a brutal injury in the process. And to add to this misery, fans do not seem to believe that Padilla was the real winner at UFC Fight Night 255 as their sympathies stuck with the Englishman. The final fight of the prelims at UFC’s 16th outing in London featured Herbert making his fifth appearance at the O2 Arena in his last six bouts.
However, it wasn’t the homecoming he had hoped for. Struggling to find consistency, Herbert has now won just three of his nine fights in the promotion. Despite a hard-fought battle, he fell short on the judges’ scorecards, losing via split decision. Amidst the controversial win, Padilla also suffered a gruesome cut on his left eyebrow, a sight that was difficult to stomach. Even Joe Rogan, while watching the event on his JRE Fight Companion show, had a visceral reaction. At first glance, the 57-year-old could hardly contain his discomfort, exclaiming, “Oh, man. That’s a nasty cut.”

But on the other hand, fans seemed to have a different assessment of the fight than the three judges who scored the fight. In fact, they believe it’s Jai Herbert, who should have taken the win home. Here’s what the fans had to say.

Fight Fans had Jai Herbert beating Chris Padilla at UFC London
The fight was pretty close, to say the least! Jai Herbert defended all of Chris Padilla’s takedown attempts and landed a fair amount of significant strikes compared to his opponent. Fans were pretty sure that he should have won the fight, as one of them stated, “JAI HERBERT WON THAT WTF.” Even lightweight fighter Terrance McKinney came out in support of Herbert, claiming, “Herbert got it done,” on X.
While one fan straight was claiming, “Jai robbed,” another fan could not comprehend the fact that Chris Padilla walked out with a win despite getting brutalized with the cut by the end of his battle against the Englishman. “How tf you leave the octagon like that and get your hand raised?”

Apart from what happened with the judge’s decision, the fans also warned Padilla that his cut may not ever fade away. As that added, “That’s going to live one heck of a scar,” another fan claimed, “Brutallll cut,” expressing concern for the Lynwood native. Also, the fans look as if they are slowly starting to lose trust in the judges who officiate UFC fights.
It’s not the first time that fans have made ‘robbery’ claims, and after witnessing the recent decision, a user on X added, “And he still got the W. These judges WILD RIGHT NOW.” Well, what’s done is done, and the only way now for both fighters is forward. Regardless, what do you think about the fans’ sentiment regarding this fight at UFC London?
