Jiri Prochazka’s samurai training bore fruit at UFC 311, as ‘The Czech Samurai’ secured a dramatic final-round knockout against Jamahal Hill. In a battle that lived up to its hype, Prochazka overwhelmed ‘Sweet Dreams’ with his unorthodox fighting style and relentless pressure. Despite Hill’s best efforts, including a vicious body shot and a few contentious eye pokes, Prochazka’s resolve remained unshaken. As Prochazka claims the victory, many fighters including Israel Adesanya have come forward to praise the fighter.
The former two-time middleweight champion enjoyed UFC’s first installment of the year from back home, and his reaction to Prochazka’s fight was nothing short of entertaining. Initially, Adesanya had a short laugh when he witnessed Prochazka’s unorthodox fighting stance: “Oh, let’s go! First round, that was the most… f–k, man. It’s all good. Hey, zest it up, Jiri, zest it up. Who’s gonna tell him otherwise? This is just unknowingly funny, ay!”
Prochazka fell to Alex Pereira twice. And a big criticism about his fighting style was not keeping his guard up. So for UFC 311, he specifically came prepared to keep his hands up. He even snapped at the commentary team in an interview after the fight when he was told they criticized him for the same. According to ‘BJP’, he did a good job maintaining his guard.

As the fight progressed, Adesanya had no words for Prochazka’s technical fighting style. After an action-packed first round, the second witnessed some drama, with the referee stepping in multiple times as Jamahal Hill threw two eye pokes at Prochazka. In addition, ‘Sweet Dreams’ landed a nasty body shot, which might have hurt Jiri, but he didn’t succumb to it, reacting to this Adesanya said, “I like Jiri’s footwork, man.”

As Jiri Prochazka knocked out Jamahal Hill in the final round, Israel Adesanya was a bit perplexed, “Oh my God, what is he? That dude, he got that dog in him. Holy [ __ ], oh my!” At the end, the former middleweight champ emphasized that he witnessed a great fight, “Wow, that was a fight that delivered .crazy fight.”
Israel Adesanya and Jiri Prochazka share a professional relationship marked by mutual respect and camaraderie. Adesanya has referred to Prochazka as a friend, often reacting to Prochazka’s fights and expressing his support. Additionally, Adesanya shares a close bond with Jamahal Hill. When ‘Sweet Dreams’ called out his haters on Instagram, ‘Stylebender’ was one of the few fighters who openly supported him.
Both these light heavyweights have sought Adesanya’s expertise to prepare for Alex Pereira but none of the ‘tips’ worked. ‘Stylebender’ confessed as much to Robert Whittaker during their recent link-up.
The light heavyweight clash earned the Fight of the Night award at UFC 311, and Jiri Prochazka may advance to face Alex Pereira after he takes on Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 313 (granted ‘Poatan’ wins). Interestingly, Israel Adesanya was not the only fighter who was awestruck by Prochazka’s advance.
