Joe Rogan and Mike Perry were engaged in an exciting conversation in Ep. #141 of the Joe Rogan Experience. The former UFC fighter mentioned Ngannou being signed with PFL and Joe Rogan provided his opinion of the contract that Ngannou has with the PFL.
“That’s interesting, right? Cause, isn’t it something crazy like Francis’ opponent has to get paid a million dollars? Did you read that? Le’s make sure that that’s true.” said Rogan, shocked and amazed, as he looked to find evidence or any form of confirmation for the same.
“You know what – it was… It was Stylebender. He was talking to Schulz about it.” remembered the UFC commentator and podcast host. Francis Ngannou’s contract with the PFL was then pulled up onto the display screen as Rogan started to read out the particular clause that mentioned that Ngannou’s opponent would have to be guaranteed a $2 million dollar purse, for a fight against the heavy-hitter.
“So, listen man. That spices things up! If you know you’re going to get two million bucks to fight him, guys who are on like the end of their contract – and what’s good about that is just like raises competition for everybody.” said Rogan as he carefully thought about the advantages and benefits of including such a clause in the contract.
The Shadow that Followed Ngannou to the PFL – Jon Jones
Ngannou moving to the PFL right before Jon Jones returned to the UFC seemed a bit intriguing. Especially because the two were beefing ahead of the current HW champ’s return to the promotion and there were rumors that the two would fight. However, one cannot help but wonder if Jones returning to the UFC was the primary reason behind Ngannou moving to the PFL.
