Strickland shared the news on X (formerly Twitter), mentioning that they just finished recording an episode for the upcoming edition of ‘This Past Weekend with Theo Von.’ In a surprising twist, he added another tweet that left fans intrigued.
Strickland further claimed that at the podcast he was about to have an outburst. In a series of tweets, the 32-year-old said he let his emotions loose for the first time and it was heavy on him.

Du Plessis attacked Strickland’s upbringing. The middleweight contender directly challenged Strickland by making comments about his abusive childhood. Du Plessis said that Strickland’s father doesn’t hold a candle to what he was about to do to him at UFC 297. “Do you think your dad beat the sh*t out of you? Your dad doesn’t have sh*t on me” said Du Plessis. He further stated that Strickland will remember his childhood trauma when he faces him.

These comments by Du Plessis did hit a sensitive nerve as Strickland was furious after that and stated, “I will take your f**king soul, you understand me? You f**king pu**y… Yeah, you did hit a nerve, you f**king bi**h”.
