Is Sean O'Malley right about Merab Dvalishvili facing legal trouble after that nasty cut?

Sean O’Malley is brimming with confidence ahead of his UFC 306 showdown against Merab Dvalishvili. The bantamweight champion is certain that his superior striking will lead to a swift knockout, dismissing any concerns about Dvalishvili’s renowned wrestling skills. O’Malley believes the fight won’t last long enough for the Georgian’s grappling to become a factor—he’s predicting a quick finish in his favor.

However, O’Malley’s confidence isn’t going unchallenged. Dvalishvili, known as ‘The Machine,’ is a formidable opponent who poses a serious threat to O’Malley’s style. With his relentless wrestling and ground game, Dvalishvili is a nightmare match-up for the champ, whose ground skills are often seen as his Achilles’ heel. Despite these dangers, O’Malley is eager to take on the challenge, although he’s wary that Dvalishvili might not even make it to their UFC Noche clash.

The stage is set for a classic striker versus grappler showdown, and O’Malley is ready to prove that his striking prowess can overcome even the toughest of wrestling opponents.

Sean O’Malley explains why Merab may not make it to UFC 306

That Sean O’Malley is looking forward to fighting Dvalishvili is apparent not only from his recent interviews but also from one of the 135-pound champ’s recent tweets where he told ‘The Machine’ to “start the countdown” to their much-awaited clash.

However, Dvalishvili’s recent almost-violent run-ins with a fan has ‘Suga’ worried. Speaking to his coach Tim Welch on their ‘TimboSuga Show’ on YouTube, the bantamweight champ recounted how a fan insulting the Georgian had angered Merab so much that he went and confronted the fan, which was caught on tape.

“I heard someone said ‘Suga’s your daddy’ or something like that and so f***ing Merab climbs this three-foot fence, tries to get over there, gets stuck. Tries to jump over the other fence and walks up there with his f***ing sassy hips and just pulls his hair. That kid could sue him. 100%,” he said.

Is Sean O'Malley right about Merab Dvalishvili facing legal trouble after that nasty cut?

Have an interesting take?

O’Malley felt that the fan could take Merab to court over his hair being pulled by the UFC star. And if that should happen, ‘Suga’ felt that the stress and financial burden of dealing with lawyers and the prospect he might have to pay big bucks to settle the lawsuit may be enough to force ‘The Machine’ to pull out of their September 14 clash!

“You’re not allowed to physically touch someone else in public, like that’s illegal. And if that kid sued, dude, lawyer fees, and lawyer this and lawyer that is f***ing stressful. So if that kid decides to sue, right now Merab might f***ing not make it to the fight,” he added. This would be especially bad for O’Malley since it would throw a spanner in his plans to overtake Conor McGregor.

Sean O’Malley is on a mission to dethrone Conor McGregor as the biggest star in the UFC, and he’s not holding back. The bantamweight champion recently stirred the pot by calling McGregor a “dork” in an interview, and he’s now revealed an ambitious plan for his next three fights that he believes will put him in the same league as the Irish icon.

O’Malley, who has been feuding with McGregor since last year, isn’t just taking shots at McGregor’s persona; he’s also targeting his record. Pointing to McGregor’s infamous loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov, ‘Suga’ has promised to defeat Khabib’s cousin and rising bantamweight title contender, Umar Nurmagomedov, after his upcoming bout with Merab Dvalishvili. But he isn’t stopping there. O’Malley is eyeing a showdown with featherweight champion Ilia Topuria, who is rapidly becoming a superstar in his own right and has openly welcomed the challenge from ‘Suga.’

To cement his legacy and prove he’s truly better than McGregor, O’Malley has his sights set on a third fight against the legendary Max Holloway. If he manages to pull off victories in all these matchups, O’Malley believes there will be no question about his status as one of the greatest fighters of all time.
