The UFC heavyweight division has just become more exciting since the newest crowned champion has graced the big leagues. Jon Jones has brought a dose of competitiveness into the division as he looks to see off the challenges that the division has. Currently, the biggest threat to his heavyweight crown is the ‘GOAT of the heavyweight’ division, Stipe Miocic. Joe Rogan has some interesting points on the former heavyweight champion.

The UFC commentator spoke about the state of the heavyweight championship in JRE 1957 with Shane Gillis. The host and the guest saw some clips of Miocic and discussed why Jon Jones must “not sleep on” the dangers of Miocic

Joe Rogan spoke highly of Stipe Miocic

The UFC commentator discussed with Shane Gillis the UFC heavyweight division. They particularly discussed former champion Stipe Miocic at length. Rogan said that Jon Jones will take on Stipe Miocic next as his first title defense.

Rogan said, “That’s gonna be a different fight. Stipe has way better wrestling than Ciryl Gane. Stipe has got a sh*t ton of experience. Stipe can box.” Furthermore, they also discussed Miocic’s first fight against Francis Ngannou. The podcaster said, “Yeah that was pretty wild. I mean that showed how durable he is.”

Additionally, Rogan also mentioned that Stipe has some of the most amazing boxing skills in the division. The UFC commentator said, “But there are other fights that show that you can’t sleep on Stipe’s standup skills. Like Stipe is a very good boxer. Very good striker.”

They also discussed how Miocic caused trouble to Daniel Cormier during their fights in the UFC. All these come as a warning to current heavyweight champion Jon Jones in his quest to defeat the ‘GOAT’ of the heavyweight division.

The UFC commentator warned the heavyweight division to look out for “durable” Stipe Miocic. Rogan said, “I know Francis knocked him out in his last fight so people just will dismiss him… That f*cking guy has been counted out since the beginning.”

The podcaster then added about the former champ’s fight against Fabrizio Werdum. Miocic got the better of Werdem in that fight. Rogan continued, “I mean he fought Fabrizio Werdum in Brazil and flatlined him. Then Fabrizio was the f*cking man. Fabrizio chased after Stipe and Stipe cracked him with a right hand…”
