Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov have been rivals for quite some time now. And the two fighters constantly take shots at each other. Now recently McGregor took to Twitter to take a dig at Nurmagomedov’s late father Abdulmanap’s death.
Recently TMZ sports caught up with ‘The Eagle’ and asked him about the same. When asked whether he believes ‘Notorious’ has crossed a line this time around. Nurmagomedov just said, ‘I think so.’ When they asked Nurmagomedov to share his views on the comments made by McGregor about his father. ‘The Eagle’ said he thinks that the comments were ‘Terrible.’

‘Notorious’ had put out a recent (deleted) tweet in which he wrote, ‘Covid is good and father is evil?’ This tweet was seemed to be directed towards Khabib Nurmagomedov, who lost his father to Covid this past year. The tweet was a play on the tweet Nurmagomedov had put out after Dustin Poirier had defeated McGregor. He had written, “good always defeats evil.”
Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov faced each other at the UFC 229 event. This fight which was touted to be one of the biggest in UFC history live up to the expectations. ‘The Eagle’ had won this fight after defeating McGregor via a 4th round submission.
The rivalry did not end then and since then the two fighters have constantly taken digs at each other. However, Nurmagomedov and various other people believe McGregor has crossed a line with his latest tweets.
What next for Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor?
Khabib Nurmagomedov last competed in the UFC back in October 2020. ‘The Eagle’ faced and defeated Justin Gaethje via a 2nd round submission. Nurmagomedov then announced his retirement as he promised his mother he won’t compete again without his father at ringside.
McGregor meanwhile competed at the UFC 264 event against Dustin Poirier. This was the third fight between ‘The Diamond.’ and McGregor. ‘Notorious’ lost the fight via a first-round TKO (doctor stoppage) as he snapped his leg towards the end of the first round.

While Nurmagomedov has often said, he won’t ever compete in the Octagon again. McGregor will look to return to action as soon as he is fit and his medical suspension is over.
