Joe Rogan’s love for food is no secret. Whether it’s discussing the benefits of the carnivore diet on his podcast or indulging in Michelin-starred meals, the UFC commentator enjoys his culinary experiences. But when it comes to capturing them on camera, well, that’s another story.
His latest Instagram post was meant to highlight a new Mediterranean steakhouse in Austin, but it turned into a roast session—of his photography skills.
The JRE (Joe Rogan Experience) host shared a series of images of his latest dining experience captioned, “Tried out a phenomenal new Mediterranean steak house in Austin – @aris.atx Incredible food and a very cool vibe. They’ve only been open for a couple weeks. We’re so lucky to have such awesome restaurants in town, and this one is definitely one of my favorites now.”

But while the restaurant might have been top-notch, his photography didn’t get the same praise. This isn’t the first time Joe Rogan’s food pics have sparked a reaction. Earlier this year, he shared images from a Michelin-starred dinner with his wife at Hestia, a modern grill house in Austin.

The experience was elite, but the pictures? Not so much. Fans weren’t impressed with the tiny portions or the lackluster visuals. And the same sentiments came to light in the comments section this time. Here’s a look at what the netizens had to say!
Fans go all in on ‘roasting’ Joe Rogan’s photography skills over “boomer” food pictures
One fan had a practical suggestion for Joe Rogan to ensure that his pictures looked much better. According to them, it seems Rogan’s technique—if one could call it that—wasn’t winning any awards for precision. Blurry and out-of-focus, many of the images seemed more like accidental snaps than intentional shots.
What’s your perspective on:
Is Joe Rogan's blurry food photography a charming quirk or a missed opportunity for Instagram fame?
Have an interesting take?
“Maybe stabilize the camera yeah?”
But what if that’s the style Rogan is aiming for? Some fans believe the blurred, dimly lit photos are simply part of his charm. It’s as if Rogan isn’t interested in staging the perfect shot—he just clicks, posts, and gets back to his meal.
“I dig the motion blur. Just shows you take a snap then go back to talking. Love it!”
And then came the inevitable call for reinforcements! Fans pleaded with Rogan to let Jamie Vernon, the JRE producer and trusted right-hand man, take over his food photography. Given Vernon’s role in managing Rogan’s podcast visuals, some felt it was time he took charge of his boss’s Instagram aesthetics, too.
“Yo Papaw give Jaime the camera”
Of course, no internet roast is complete without a good old-fashioned generational jab. The comments section quickly turned into a critique of Rogan’s “boomer” camera work. From poor angles to lighting that made the dishes look unappetizing, some fans joked that Rogan’s photography skills were stuck in a past era.
“This is some class A rated boomer camera work”

Frustration also boiled over for some, who couldn’t wrap their heads around why every single food picture Rogan posts turns out the same way.
“Amazing looking food. Terrible looking pictures.”
For other fans, at this point, the low-quality images shared by Joe Rogan work practically as a watermark. You don’t need a username to know who posted it—just look for the lack of focus and questionable framing.

“The second I see a blurry picture of a plate with food and low light on Instagram, I know it’s Joe Rogan.”
To wrap things up, Joe Rogan’s food photography has become as much a part of his brand as his deep dives into conspiracy theories and fight breakdowns. So, will the JRE host finally hand the camera over to Jamie, or will his blurry food pics remain an internet staple? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
