Colorado Parks and Wildlife have reintroduced the gray wolf near the ski resorts of Vail and Aspen, in an area where they believe the species has the best chance of returning after almost all of it was killed 80 years ago. This seems like a great plan for helping Mother Nature restore its balance by bringing one of the biggest predators of the area back to its habitat. However, it seems like Joe Rogan stands against the project. But why?
Taking to his Instagram account, the JRE host revealed that a new batch of wolves was released right onto a friend’s ranch. The biggest problem? The friend had livestock on his land, and no one even bothered to alert him as to what they were planning. Sharing a picture of an elk carcass, Joe Rogan revealed that bringing back the wolves was a terrible idea. “I’m a fan of wolves, and all wildlife, but I think ballot box biology is a terrible idea. Most of these people all gung ho for the reintroduction have no idea what they’ve voted for.”
He further added, “There’s a reason why they eradicated wolves from the west ages ago, and a reason why they’re the bad guys in every old fairy tale from Little Red Riding Hood to the 3 little pigs. They’re brilliant, ruthless hunters, and they will k–l and eat everything they can, including cattle, horses, and dogs.” According to the UFC commentator, the decision would soon be regretted by the people once the wolf population witnesses a rise again.

According to Joe Rogan, the people will have a major problem on their hands now. Wolves are great at staying away from the sight of humans. So, when the people finally decide to try and control the population of the predators through hunting, they’ll have a hard time doing that. In fact, this is a major problem that the JRE host predicted even before they released the wild animals in Colorado. So, what did he say?
When Joe Rogan warned Colorado before releasing the wolves
The wolves have been released in an area that stretched from north of Vail east to the Continental Divide, south to southeast of Gunnison, west of Ridgeway, and north to north of Glenwood Springs, with Aspen in the middle. In terms of human safety, wolves normally avoid humans and attacks are extremely rare, therefore National Park Service experts are unconcerned about the animals’ proximity to ski slopes.

However, it is worth noting that there are people with pets and livestock that will be in danger of being hunted by predators. Speaking to Cliff Gray on JRE #1955, the JRE host said that wolves are dominant, intelligent, and calculating predators. So, there was a reason why they were eradicated from the West. But with the reintroduction, there’s going to be chaos. “People are gonna lose their dogs. Like, sure, your dogs are gonna get eaten. Like, it’s going to affect anyone who has livestock. You’re gonna have a problem, whether that problem’s in three years or in five years, those problems are coming.”

He further mentioned how people from Alaska are already facing a similar problem and Colorado just got themselves into the same situation. “Talk to people that live in Alaska. Like, you know anybody who lives in, like, British Columbia? Like, they have real f—— wolf problems up there.” Well, it surely looks like Joe Rogan was and still remains against the project.
