UFC 300 witnessed Alex Pereira put up a dominant performance yet again. The Brazilian knocked out former light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill in the first round. Very few predicted that the fight would end this early. However, ‘Poatan’ once again proved his dominance in his new division by upsetting many.

Alex Pereira is, without a doubt, one of the lethal strikers in the division. However, the 36-year-old is not only dependent on his power to win his matches. His recent performance against ‘Sweet Dreams’ proved that he is more than his left hook. Pereira started the fight with a very calm approach, measuring his opponent. However, he latched on the first opportunity he got and knocked Hill out. But how did he do so? Well, Coach Atlas has the answer for you.

In a recent Instagram post, he broke down the fight using his own coaching experience. He shared his opinion in a post which read, “Wow, Pereira gradually and methodically closed gap to punch forcing Hill to back up not set, he timed him as Hill threw and caught him, he never saw. Cold and Calculated. #UFC 300”

What followed was the famous Khaby Lame celebration, which surprised many out there. Pereira also pushed aside referee Herb Dean after getting kicked in the groins. The move showed that the champion had already lined his opponent for a KO finish. However, it seems that Hill is unfazed by his loss as he called out his next opponent in a recent X post.

When Jamahal Hill walked into the Octagon, he displayed a lot of confidence. He even decided the watch the champion’s entry by standing at the entrance. However, he just couldn’t match up to the fighting intelligence of the Brazilian. It just took him just the first round to prove his dominance in the division. It now seems that Hill has moved on from the loss and is already focused on his next opponent, Jiri Prochazka. He recently took to his X account to call out the former champion.

He tweeted, “I dared to be great against adversity and against a great challenge and came up short at the highest level in the world!!! I answered the call twice on short notice to fight for a championship that most will never fight for!!! On to the next @jiri_bjp least final make it happen!!” It will be interesting to see whether he gets his fight after his performance at UFC 300.
