When the journalists asked the fighter whether his confession about fighting Oliveria was a facade, Dan Hooker claimed that he made it in the heat of the moment, “Oh, well, I was actually—um—they flew me over to do Volk shows there, like a show they do, like the Volk Sports show. So, to then come in with a three-fight win streak, top five, like, now these other guys that I’ve been calling out for the longest periods of time are going to have to start calling [me out], because I’ve got something they want, which is a win streak.
