“With Sean[O’Malley], I will do whatever I want,” roared Umar Nurmagomedov when he was asked about his take on the bantamweight champion. Nurmagomedov is prepping up to lock horns against Cory Sandhagen in Abu Dhabi. The 10th-ranked bantamweight recently stated that he would like to face the winner of the upcoming UFC Sphere once he defeats Sandhagen. However, in an anticipation to deepen his rivalry with the current champion, Nurmagomedov appears to have made a rather mistake.
Umar Nurmgomedov is one of the biggest prospects to clinch the bantamweight title. With a career record of 17 victories and 0 losses, Nurmagomedov has not lost a single round in his entire career but is it enough to rag doll the entire top brass of the bantamweight division? Well, the Dagestani believes none of them hold a candle to him. While having a conversation with Daniel Cormier on his YouTuber handle, Nurmagomedov stated that he is ashamed that Sean O’Malley is the champion.

The former dual weight champion of the world asked Nurmagomedov about his opinion on O’Malley’s bright character, to which the Dagestani said, “I think we, me and him, are from two different worlds. You know, he’s about funny stuff, and I don’t know, it’s a little bit… I don’t know what, different. Uh, guys, I’m ashamed to say we have the same champion, you know.
So why did Umar Nurmagomedov say this? Well, Sean O’Malley’s character is rather obnoxious for him as he further explains, “You see, men have to be different. Being a man is about different things. It’s not just about making some funny stuff. When you almost reach the age of 87 or 88, you have to be a father, you have to be a good example for the younger generation, and you have to do something like a man, not like a clown.” According to the Dagestni men should embody strength and good manners but O’Malley is the complete opposite of that. This statement by the Dagestani witnessed the ire of fans.
Fans call out Umar Nurmagomedov for ‘Ashamed’ jibe for Sean O’Malley
The inception of Khabib Nurmagomedov in the promotion was a big break for Dagestani fighters. After he became the lightweight champion of the world, Dana White understood that the mountains of Dagestan have numerous fighters like him, and one way or another it worked in the favour of Dagestan. Regardless, being the cousin of ‘Eagle’ is no easy task as you would be shrouded in the greatness of your brother until you achieve what he did and it appears it has already started with Nurmagomedov, “Umar only got to the ufc cause of Khabib,” a fan wrote.

Khabib Nurmagomedov has been embroiled in some controversies. According to reports, the former lightweight champion of the world reportedly owes approximately 306 million rubles or 3.3 million dollars to the Russian Federal Tax Services. Why? Well, some sting investigations suggest that the business carried on by Nurmagomedov revealed some tax fraud. Looking at this a social media user wrote, “At least he pay taxes.”
Umar Nurmagomedov has yet to defeat any ranked fighter in the bantamweight division and Sandhagen would be his first ranked fight. Taking this into consideration, a fan added “I don’t even like o malley. But this man has 0 ranked wins he can’t talk… yet. Maybe if he wins a belt. Or at least the cory fight he can start chirping.”
Team Khabib goes through one of the most disciplined as well as harsh training regimens which make them basically winning machines. However, according to a fan, this is unhealthy, “These Dagestan guys need to learn to not be so serious. Try smiling or even laughing. Enjoy life guys.”

Unlike Nurmagomedov, who won most of his fights by way of decision, Sean O’Malley’s track record is a bit better considering that he has a 72 % finish rate. Regardless, a social media user believes, Nurmagoemedov’s chin would be obliterated when he faces O’Malley, “O’malley would snipe this dudes chin worse than that unranked fighter did lmfao.” Last but not least, a social media user was a bit rough in his statement, “Idk who would you guys rather have as champ a or an inbred ??”
The new rivalry in the bantamweight division appears to be between Nurmagoemdov and O’Malley. Who among them is more likely to emerge victorious? State your thoughts in the comments below.
