Israel Adesanya is living a manifested destiny. After running roughshod over the middleweight division, he manifested a Dricus du Plessis victory at UFC 290. Neither the South African fighter nor his destiny disappointed him. A victory over Robert Whittaker has effectively decided the next title showdown at 185 lbs. The Nigerian-Kiwi thus now has a new challenger within grasp and he will look to put to rest this African rivalry.

The soaring tensions between the two reached a tipping point when ‘Stylebender’ stormed into the cage. He interrupted the 29-year-old’s festivities and unleashed racial slurs on him. Those statements took the internet by storm. But it appears the flamboyant and unapologetic fighter is ready to double down on his efforts, as tries to get under the skin of ‘Stillknocks’.

While some fans shunned him for throwing racial slurs, UFC President Dana White remained unfazed by those. In the post-event presser, he said, “He’s [Israel Adesanya] black. Who gives a sh*t. I could care less.” The next in line, du Plessis, however, disagreed and was willing to hold the champion accountable for clown-like conduct, instead of holding himself up as a champion.

Similarly, in another tweet, the 24-2 record holder spoke his mind as he asserted it was difficult to please people, irrespective of the comments. He had earlier called du Plessis a “crack*r” and in return faced fans’ blunt. The former kickboxer’s recent comments also exacerbated the situation.

He thus penned, “I called him a cracker, they got mad… I called him a n*gga, they got madder. Lesson…you can’t please ppl..f*ck em!”

The genesis of their heated rivalry is traced back to the dismissive comments that du Plessis made about the middleweight kingpin. The 20-2 record refused to accept Adesanya as an African champion. That ignited the tussle of true African between the two. However, a fan pointed out du Plessis’ remarks were shortsighted.

Did du Plessis stir the pot?

Adesanya shared the fans’ response blaming du Plessis for causing a stir. They replied, “He’s now acting like he didn’t stir any pot, but we know their games too well. Now, he has to face the dance. I’m sure Kamaru and Francis are counting on Izzy to team an ancestral lesson.”

The #5 pound-for-pound fighter had an apt caption in store as he hit back, “Perspective is Powerful‼️”
