Stipe Miocic made a pretty huge mistake when he said, “Bring it on, b–ch!” Jon Jones doesn’t like being disrespected, and he took the firefighter’s words in rage. While trash talks are a part of the mixed martial arts universe, the undisputed UFC heavyweight champion lit the fire when he heard ‘Stone Cold’ thrashing him out on TV. He simply could not take it well and lashed back at the 42-year-old with a stern warning.
Taking to X, ‘Bones’ sent forth a tweet quoting, “Hiring black fighters to mimic me will not help you Stipe. And you shouldn’t have called me a b–ch, the disrespect wasn’t necessary. Let’s play.” But he wasn’t done there! Hyping up a fight can indeed be done without disrespecting one another.
The heavyweight champ stayed focused on Miocic dissing him. In a video shared by Championship Rounds on Instagram, Jones could be heard saying, “See the disrespect, you calling me a b–ch, Stipe. The disrespect didn’t have to happen. You’re gonna wish you didn’t say that.” With the warning out in the open, things have begun to look a lot more interesting. After all, the clash between the two heavyweights at UFC 309 was something that the entire fighting community had been waiting for with great anticipation.

This wasn’t the first time Miocic called Jones a b–ch. Back at UFC 295, following his big win, ‘Bones’ called ‘Stone Cold’ out and asked if he had been training properly. But the 42-year-old firefighter replied, “I will make you my b–ch!” While the rivalry between the heavyweights has heated up pretty fiercely, the UFC double champion seems to be in a bit of turmoil.

Jon Jones delivers an unexpected blow before his fight with Stipe Miocic

Despite the powerful callout at UFC 295 and the heat that ensued after that, Jones injured his pectoral muscle just a few weeks before his fight with Miocic, back in 2023. And healing his torn muscles took a lot longer period of time than what a young guy would have required. Weighing in on this, he said, “This is about as soon as I should be back in the cage. The injury was anywhere from 8 months to a year and I feel like we’re right around the one year mark. So I mean some athletes would still be using this time to recover.”
There was a time when fighters were afraid of fighting Jones. And it was all because of the immense power he packed in his strikes. However, things change with time, and ‘Bones’ seems to know this pretty well. He continued, “But I know the sport can only wait for so long, and I do feel healed enough to be in there. I’m not as strong as I used to be but I’m smarter than ever. I have a lot of experience and I’m plenty strong and it’s going to be a great fight.”

Nevertheless, with UFC 309 right around the corner, Jones would give his absolute best against Miocic. And vice versa would be true, too. After all, the HW champ would love to retire with a long winning streak, while his opponent would love to hang his gloves with a win over one of the strongest fighters in the world.
