Tracy Cortez is going through some turbulent times. The UFC flyweight prospect’s relationship with Brian Ortega was well-known to fans. It is speculated that Cortez and Ortega aren’t a couple anymore. Cortez deleted pictures of the couple and changed her name to Tracy Cortez from Tracy Ortega recently. This gave wind to the rumors that the two may have gone their separate ways. To add to her troubles, Cortez went under the knife and got surgery done on her hand. The UFC star has now given some updates on the injury and recovery. She also sent out a heartfelt message to fans on Instagram.

Tracy Cortez posted a picture of herself and promised fans that she will come back stronger. Cortez was last seen in the cage against Melissa Gatto. At UFC 274, the UFC star defeated Gatto with a unanimous decision. This was her tenth consecutive victory in her MMA career. Things, however, seem to have gone downhill since then. Despite her setbacks, the flyweight contender is keen to make her comeback into the octagon.
Tracy Cortez determined to make her return
Cortez was supposed to fight Amanda Ribas in December last year, but she had to pull out of the fight at the last moment. She later revealed that there were medical reasons for her unavailability. In her later posts, Cortez let her fans know about her impending surgery. She has now updated her fans about the surgery and the recovery process.

Cortez wrote, “trusting the process..Surgery on my hand yesterday went well my entire life has always been about chasing these wild dreams of mine, having high hopes & a big vision for my future. As a recent, my days have been about just putting 1 foot in front of another. I may be down but I promise you I’m not out! Taking life day by day, healing up, recovering & I will be back, stronger & better than ever #TeamCortez
Cortez dealt with mental and physical troubles
Tracy Cortez had been dealing with trouble at both mental and physical levels in the past. The recent message to fans, however, shows she is ready to go through the process and hopeful to get back in the game. Cortez is currently ranked #14 in the UFC women’s flyweight division. Fans will hope for a swift recovery. Brian Ortega fans too will expect their favorite to come out a better man after the split.
