Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley is just around the corner, and the excitement for the highly anticipated event is bursting through the roof. Considered Paul’s toughest fight to date, Tyron Woodley will have a lot riding on his shoulders come fight night.

A former UFC welterweight champion, Tyron Woodley chose to move on from the sport of MMA after a four-fight losing streak in the UFC. Now, ‘The Chosen One’ has decided to try his hand at professional boxing, making his debut against the younger Paul brother.

Primarily a wrestler blessed with athleticism and speed, Tyron Woodley might have been gun shy in MMA at times, considering how an opponent can capitalize on a single mistake by shooting for a takedown or throwing a kick.

However, now that Woodley has had the time to solely focus on his boxing, one can expect the former champ to be even more sharp and dangerous.

Perhaps that is why Daniel Cormier believes Jake Paul will have his hands full the moment he steps inside the ring with Tyron Woodley.

It is time to stop allowing this kid to trick you. He is not just a YouTube kid anymore, he’s not just a Disney kid. He’s a fighter because he’s prepping to fight full time. But he’s going to have his hands full this weekend because T-Wood is no joke. T- Wood is nasty, T-Wood is powerful. Tyron is is fast, he’s tough, and he’s got a killer right hand, that if he lands he’s going to knock Jake Paul out”

A win against Jake Paul could do wonders for Tyron Woodley. Apart from being a brilliant start to his professional boxing career, it will also allow him to regain the support of his estranged MMA fans.

Undoubtedly one of the greatest fighters to compete at welterweight, Tyron Woodley left the UFC following a four-fight skid. And although the 39-year-old seemed in great physical shape ahead of these bouts, many believe he didn’t have the motivation to stay on the top of the mountain.

Now Woodley is on his way to making his professional boxing debut and should things go according to his plan, boxing will be the last combat sport Woodley competes in before retiring. However, in case Woodley’s boxing career doesn’t take-off, one can envision the former champion making a return to the UFC or even another MMA organization.
