Michael Jai White starrer ‘Black Dynamite’ continues to inspire combat sports enthusiasts. The American Blaxploitation movie, packed with action and punchy comedy, racked in positive reviews and became a cult classic. One factor that contributed to its immense success was its high-paced and unique martial arts-inspired action sequences. Not only did the American actor effortlessly execute the action sequences but also inspire someone closer to his heart.

The 55-year-old actor, who picked up and then portrayed martial arts on the bigger screen, unloaded a few crafty sequences in the 2009 project. One of those was his iconic no-look behind-the-back hook kick. Amusingly, his wife Gillian effortlessly replicated the same kick in a recent Hollywood movie, ‘Welcome to Sudden Death’. While the movie failed to meet the fans’ expectations, it paid an apt homage to Black Dynamite.

Starring White, Gary Owen, and Gillian White, ‘Welcome to Sudden Death’ features a sequence where Owen’s character is trying to leash in the Hollywood actress. Refusing to do so, she unleashed a no-look behind-the-back hook kick, and it did a number on Owen’s character. She recently took to her Instagram handle to reveal ‘Black Dynamite’ taught her the famed kick.

Further, she pitched in a comical question as she wanted to know how many people learned the kick from the popular movie. She penned, “How many people can say Black Dynamite is their sensei who taught them the no-look behind the back hook kick to our friend @garyowencomedy? 🙋🏽‍♀️🙋🏽‍♀️🙋🏽‍♀️ 🤣💥”

The post sent the combat sports as well as movie enthusiasts down memory lane. While some fans lauded the actress, some pointed out the kick’s trademark now belonged to the White family.
