UFC 270 was a crucial event for the heavyweight division. Francis Ngannou successfully defended his title against Ciryl Gane. While Jones didn’t attend the event, he surely had his eye on the bout. He wrote several tweets following Ngannou’s spectacular win. However, analyst Michael Bisping was not too happy with his tweets.
If this is the Apex of heavyweight fighting, I’m excited about it. Got some more records to break
— BONY (@JonnyBones) January 23, 2022
Speaking about Jones’ tweets, Bisping was of the opinion that the fighter should (h/t MMA Fighting), “Stop tweeting and start fighting”.
He further said, “It’s been a while since he’s been in the octagon. It’s all well and good, sitting there and putting them down and referring to himself as daddy, which he very well may be.”
“He could go in there and embarrass everybody in the heavyweight division. But we don’t know that, and until you’re man enough to step in there and do that, you can’t sit there and disregard and kind of mock what just took place tonight.”

ESPN’s Michael Eaves was of a similar opinion. He felt that instead of talking about how great of a fighter he was, Jones should prove it through his action. Eaves said, “Don’t talk about it, be about it. Let’s go Jon. Get your life together so we can see the fight that so many fans [want to see].”
When will Jon Jones return?
‘Bones‘ was targeting 2022 to return as a heavyweight. He frequently shares his training videos on social media. Thus, it looks like he could have a smashing return this year. However, Dana White is not too sure about this. The UFC President is unsure about what the fighter wants to do next.
