Thompson is a blue belt in Jiu-Jitsu and a black belt in Japanese Jiu-Jitsu, Kenpo Karate, and kickboxing.
Apart from his professional life, the (16-4) record holder is unmarried and keeps his personal life to himself. However, there were few pictures surfacing on the internet of the ring girl Red Dela Cruz and Thompson when they met during the UFC Asia Tour in 2016.
