Pull-outs in the sport of mixed martial arts can hamper the career of a fighter and also an event. Similarly, the UFC 276 fight card headlined by Israel Adesanya and Jared Cannonier has faced a major blow. A star-studded fighter on the main card of the event has pulled out of a fight because of reasons unknown.

Lauren Murphy pulled out of her fight against Tate for undisclosed reasons. A tweet from MMA journalist Marc Raimondi said, “Miesha Tate vs. Lauren Murphy is off the UFC 276 card, per the #UFCVegas57 broadcast. Sources told ESPN that Murphy is out for undisclosed reasons.”

In another tweet, the journalist further spoke about the future of this fight between Tate and Murphy. He said, “Sources said Tate is very unlikely to fight next week in Vegas. Most likely scenario is Tate vs. Murphy being rebooked for later in July. The Long Island card is the frontrunner, per sources.”

This is an unfortunate situation for both fighters. However, this is not the first pull-out of the UFC 276 card. Previously, another lightweight fighter withdrew from their fight, too.

Bobby Green withdrew from his fight at UFC 276 for undisclosed reasons

The star-studded UFC 276 card has had its fair share of pullouts. Before Lauren Murphy could pull out of her fight against Miesha Tate, the card already saw veteran Bobby Green pull out of his fight against Jim Miller. However, the promotion replaced the fighter.

Lightweight fighter Bobby Green was set to face stalwart Jim Miller in a lightweight fight at UFC 276. However, reports later said that Green had to pull out from the fight due to undisclosed reasons.

Donald Cerrone will replace Bobby Green to compete against Miller. A tweet by Brett Okamoto said, “Bobby Green is out of next week’s fight against Jim Miller for undisclosed reasons. Cowboy Cerrone will fill his spot against Jim Miller at UFC 276 at 170 pounds, per UFC. Miller’s 40th UFC fight, Cowboy’s 38th (and 48th UFC/WEC appearance combined).”

The prospect of taking up a short-notice fight wouldn’t worry someone like Donald Cerrone. ‘Cowboy’ throughout his career is known for taking up such short-notice fights. Also, considering that he had two consecutive canceled against Joe Lauzon, Cerrone will be eager to put up a performance against Miller whom he has previously beaten.
