On social media, the hashtag #SpotifyWrapped dawned as a trend, which is nothing more than the annual summary made by Spotify. It takes into account the most listened-to music and podcasts by its users, and like always, people are excited to know who the biggest artists and podcasters in the world are. On a global scale, Taylor Swift is crowned, again, as the most listened-to artist worldwide through the Spotify platform.
Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Espresso’ is the most listened-to song this year, according to an annual report distributed by the streaming platform. But what about podcasts? Did MMA world’s favorite Joe Rogan’s ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ win the crown as the most listened-to podcast in the world? Well, let’s find out the answer to this exciting mystery!

“The Joe Rogan Experience” did indeed become the top podcast in the world and the United States for the fourth year in a row as per the Swedish audio giants. With more than 14.5 million followers, he still reigns supreme as the most popular podcast on the platform. The only other competition that he has is the TED Talks Daily podcast, with only 5 million followers. So we can clearly say that it was a one-sided race for the UFC commentator.
As per Spotify, users listened to at least two minutes of an episode of the show. In the rankings, ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ was followed by ‘Call Her Daddy,’ ‘Huberman Lab,’ ‘This Past Weekend with Theo Von,’ and ‘The Diary Of A CEO with Steven Bartlett’ podcasts. However, none came close to the dominance of Rogan’s show, especially after the amazing year that the podcast has had with guests such as J.D. Vance, Josh Brolin, Elon Musk, and Donald Trump.

In fact, it was through Joe Rogan‘s podcast that Trump earned a major boost in popularity amongst the young masses. While Kamala Harris did sit for an interview on “Call Her Daddy” in early October, it wasn’t enough to make her grab the presidential seat. It was a truly dominant showing by ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ on Spotify, and the UFC commentator achieved it without being exclusive to the platform.
‘Joe Rogan Experience’ is no longer exclusive to Spotify!
Joe Rogan is the most popular and influential podcaster in the world, and Spotify knows it. The Swedish firm announced in February that it signed a new multi-year contract with the aforementioned for the distribution of The Joe Rogan Experience. While the parties did not provide details on the duration or amount of the settlement, The Wall Street Journal indicated that it is valued at up to $250 million.

Spotify is now paying Joe Rogan a guaranteed minimum sum in advance and then giving him a portion of the advertising revenue. In this way, the company and the host are extending the bond they started in 2020 when The Joe Rogan Experience became a Spotify-exclusive podcast. However, the terms of the new agreement are different from those of the original. The most surprising point is that Rogan’s podcast is no longer exclusive to Spotify.
The podcast is now available on multiple platforms, such as YouTube and Apple Podcasts. Of course, it will be Spotify itself that will be in charge of both the distribution of the product and its monetization through ads. When The Joe Rogan Experience came to Spotify, it was a real success. Now with this Spotify Wrapped, fans are now aware that JRE still reigns supreme. So what do you think? Will Joe Rogan be able to continue the dominance in 2025 as well? Let us know in the comments.
