The noted former UFC and Bellator fighter, Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson bid goodbye to the world on 13 November 2022. The news sent the fighting world into a state of grief. ‘Rumble’ Johnson had a UFC career spanning from 2007 to 2017, in which he accomplished a record of 13-6. He was regarded by many as one of the hardest punchers in the entire sport of MMA. He also held an overall record of 23-6 in his entire MMA career.

Johnson fought his last bout in May 2021 under the ‘Bellator MMA’ promotion. He was just 38 years old when he passed away on Sunday, November 13.
The entire UFC was grief-stricken, including Dana White
A lot of noted fighters of the UFC expressed their grief over social media. The UFC president, Dana White put up an Instagram story with a snap of Johnson and a caption reading, “RIP Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson“.
The UFC boss also iterated, “He was always a great kid. He was always in fun fights and he had that one-punch KO power that not many people ever had.” White further lauded the late ‘Rumble’ stating, “He was a good human being. I send my condolences to his family.”

Former two-weight division champion and UFC analyst, Daniel Cormier also mourned Johnson’s demise and put out a heartfelt tweet with the words, “Sometimes life doesn’t seem fair. Horrible news #RIP #Rumblesquad @Anthony_Rumble”

A lot of MMA-covering news outlets, including ESPN, wrote about Johnson’s demise, which received a lot of condolences from MMA fans around the world.

The legacy of Anthony Johnson will live on
Johnson was a one-of-a-kind fighter and competed in three weight divisions at the UFC. He fought as a Welterweight, Middleweight, and also as Light Heavyweight in the promotion. Very few other fighters have fought in three weight classes of UFC. He already held a record of 3-0 when he was signed in by the UFC. ‘Rumble’ also made his UFC debut in a grand fashion, knocking out Chad Reiner in just 13 seconds.

Johnson was reported to be ill from the previous October. His manager had stated that he was experiencing health problems. ‘Rumble’ reportedly had an organ failure owing to non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma as well as hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis. It is a rarely found immune-system disorder.
