Khabib Nurmagomedov has had an illustrious MMA career in the UFC. He retired as one of the greatest undefeated lightweight champions in the history of UFC. Now, the ‘Eagle’ plans to stick in the MMA world as a coach.
The former UFC lightweight champion used to train at the American Kickboxing Academy for his fights. As Nurmagomedov decided to be a coach, he stayed at AKA to train his teammates, who were there for him during his MMA journey.

The ‘Eagle’ wants to help his teammates from AKA achieve their dreams the same way he accomplished his. In doing so, Nurmagomedov puts his teammates through intense training sessions.
Recently, an Instagram post made by ESPN MMA revealed some behind the scenes on how Nurmagomedov trains his teammates at AKA. In the footage, the ‘Eagle’ is seen saying – “Someone tired, they can go home… They can cry too.”
How hard did Khabib Nurmagomedov train during his MMA career?
Every UFC fighter has a dream to one day claim the title in their respective division. And Nurmagomedov’s dream was to go down as the undefeated lightweight champion in the UFC, which he successfully fulfilled.
Nurmagomedov retired with a spectacular undefeated professional MMA record of 29-0. Moreover, he is the longest-reigning UFC lightweight champion to this day, from 2018 to 2021. To accomplish these achievements, the ‘Eagle’ also had to go through intense training sessions.
Once, Nurmagomedov went through a rough weight cut session for his scheduled bout against Tony Ferguson at UFC 209. This weight cut session was so intense that it led him to get hospitalized on the morning of the weigh-ins of UFC 209. The bout was then canceled due to various reasons from both sides.

As already mentioned above, Nurmagomedov wants his teammates from AKA to fulfill their dreams. Hence, he makes them go through intense training sessions the same way he went through in his MMA career.
