Featuring as the co-main event, the bout between Guida and Puelles didn’t disappoint.
Coming off a win over Leonardo Santos in his last fight, Guida looked eager to get his hand raised. However, Puelles, who was riding a four-fight winning streak, had other plans. He defeated Guida via a knee-bar submission, increased his winning streak to five, and improved to 12-2-0.

Just had a couple buddies text me and say they cashed on Puelles and the sub prop. That feels so damn good to hear. Thanks for reading if you did. I'm not going to get every pick right but hitting a +400 sub prop and seeing my friends cash on it feels really good! #UFCVegas52

Incredible that Puelles claims to not even practice his go-to submission, which also just so happens to be one of the traditionally lowest-percentage submissions regardless of division, being the kneebar. Like, what? Lol. #UFCVegas52

Also, Puelles is making the most out of his post-fight interview. Calls out Twitter for no verification badge and throws his hat in the ring for a commentary job.

Claudio Puelles. Slick, SLICK kneebar on Clay Guida. Three of those finishes in the UFC now. Dude’s fun to watch on the ground.

Clay is a legend always. Puelles is a dangerous dude.

Someone tag @elonmusk and tell him to give Claudio Puelles his verification check.

This bout was a great showing of Puelles soaking in the pressure against a veteran like Guida and sticking to his best weapons to get the win.
What’s next for Clay Guida and Claudio Puelles?

With his resume, ‘The Carpenter’ can retire anytime he wants and depart with an iconic career behind him. However, as he has always bounced back from a defeat, the fight fans could see him taking on another up-and-coming fighter soon.
For Puelles, the future is bright in the lightweight division. With his five-fight win streak, the graph is only going upward. That said, he has a long list of very formidable opponents waiting for him in the top 15.
