Someone at UFC is getting fired—do you think heads should roll for the UFC 306 mix-up?

It was obvious that UFC 306 would have some big names in attendance. After all, it would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, but amidst all the excitement, the UFC made a goof-up that no one saw coming. As Valentina Shevchenko took revenge by defeating Alexa Grasso, she celebrated this victory with a dance but soon people witnessed a blunder when the camera focused on boxing superstar Terance Crawford.

Well, the commentators didn’t recognize him. Instead, Joe Rogan and Co., or Jon Anik, if we are to be specific, introduced Crawford as none other than a popular rapper who won his diss battle against Drake, Kendrick Lamar. However, Anik quickly rectified his mistake and said, “Looks like Terance Crawford to me.”

It was indeed a funny incident and the MMA community was caught off-guard by such a mistake. Te͏rence ͏Craw͏f͏o͏rd was spotted ͏ringside at The Sphere ͏after atten͏ding an e͏arlie͏r e͏vent across the stree͏t at T-M͏obi͏le A͏rena͏, whe͏re C͏anelo͏ ͏Al͏͏vare͏z se͏͏cure͏d a dom͏ina͏nt vic͏tory ov͏er Edgar Ber͏la͏nga. However, what did the boxer have to say about UFC’s blunder?

Well, he chose to poke some fun as well and shared a screenshot of the error on his social media and wrote, “Damn Kendrick Lamar,” followed by two smileys. But here’s the biggest question. How mad was Dana White?

Surprisingly, he was not! During the post-fight press conference, White stated while controlling his laughter, “That was pretty bad… He did kind of look like Kendrick Lamar… let’s not f–k around.”

But hey, let us not blame only the UFC. Previously, Kendrick Lamar himself used Terence Crawford’s name in his diss track!

The Kendrick Lamar vs. Drake beef was one of the most intriguing that was happening in the world of entertainment in the middle of the year. Their beef has been going on for years, but Lamar finally snapped when Drake dropped his track Push-Up in April, directly attacking Kendrick Lamar’s height. The Canadian musician also mentioned that Lamar was the Marionette of the music industry. This attack by Drake irked Kendrick Lamar, who was silent for months. In response, Lamar fired back with a six-minute track diss track ‘Euphoria’.

What’s your perspective on:

Someone at UFC is getting fired—do you think heads should roll for the UFC 306 mix-up?

Have an interesting take?

A part of his rap read, “I don’t like you poppin’ sh-t at Pharrell; for him, I inherit the beef / Yeah, f*ck all that pushin’ P. Let me see you push a T / You better off spinnin’ again on him. You think about pushin’ me? / He’s Terence Thornton, I’m Terence Crawford, yeah, I’m whoopin’ feet.”

Clearly, neither Kendrick Lamar nor Terance Crawford would be too mad about this mixup at UFC 306.

UFC fans have the time of their life with the Kendrick Lamar-Terence Crawford mistake!

Well, though no one expected it, the goof-up took away a lot of UFC 306’s limelight. Former bantamweight champion, Aljamain Sterling was one of the very first people who took to X to make fun of the situation. He wrote, “Terance Crawford evolved into Kendrick Lamar.”

Now Crawford deserves to be known for more than a broadcast goof-up. He is the WBA and WBO light middleweight champion after he defeated Israil Madrimov in August. Next, people want to see the boxer fight Sebastian Fundora. Yet the UFC couldn’t recognize him.

Referring to this, Dillon Danis wrote on X, “Someone at UFC is getting fired.”

Additionally, let us not forget Crawford’s high-profile beef with boxer Ryan Garcia, who called him “overhyped” in one interview. His public disputes with Garcia and digs at Canelo Alvarez have definitely made him a popular name in addition to his boxing skills.

“UFC must really hate Boxing,” joked a viewer. This reminds us of how Francis Ngannou wanted the promotion to allow him to box- something that Conor McGregor did- but the heavyweight was repeatedly denied the opportunity until he joined the PFL.

“Somebody listened to Euphoria,” joked a fan. Well, all things said and done, UFC 306 was a success and a little hiccup won’t take that away. What do you think?
