Since the Colby Covington versus Jorge Masvidal fight was announced, the MMA community has been on its toes. It was something special that the UFC had in its hands right off the bat. The storyline, the skill of both fighters, things just went hand in hand.

Selling people on the authenticity of the hate between the two was irrelevant. This is because once you get into the cage, you can’t play MMA. With that being said, however, despite the gladiator match that Covington and Masvidal had at UFC 272, one of them still hasn’t seemed to bury the hatchet.

It’s clear that both of them still hate each other, but it seems to be violence on sight for Masvidal. Reports have flooded the MMA community that Jorge Masvidal attacked Colby Covington outside the Papi Steak restaurant, Miami Beach.

Despite reports saying that Covington was assaulted by Masvidal, one user, however, tweeted something else entirely. This has not been proven and is likely only left to speculate by the fans.

Once the fight escalated, the police arrived at the scene, and Covington apparently tried to run. Crowds gathered, and a video of Covington talking to the police surfaced on the internet. 

Colby Covington appeared stunned at Masvidal’s actions. In the video, he said, “He’s over here swinging, trying to come at me, and I ran…How would [Masvidal] know I’m here?”
