The entire world greatly anticipates the time when Conor McGregor would step back into the Octagon. The former UFC double champion has not failed to tease the fans of his return. However, his intentions to get into the middleweight division had been a pretty clear statement, which he later retracted. But, the return of the ‘Notorious’ remains a hot topic for discussion among fight fans. The topic came into the light again, as the UFC legend, Daniel Cormier, and the Super Bowl champion, Ryan Clark, discussed the fighter’s return on their podcast.
In the recent episode of ‘DC & RC’, the duo discussed the probable opponent for McGregor when he finally returns to the Octagon. Although DC seemed pretty shaky, he made a bold statement about the former champion’s return.

Daniel Cormier predicts Conor McGregor’s next fight
During their conversation, Clark asked Cormier to make some predictions for this year. Without a doubt, he enquired about McGregor’s return and his next fight. Surprisingly, DC began laughing as soon as he heard the question. He mocked his co-host by playfully asking whether he wanted to make McGregor the biggest thing again.
Clark said, “I didn’t know he was gonna film ‘Roadhouse’. I can’t predict that. Like I didn’t know he was gonna become a small bodybuilder.” However, he kept pushing and asked Cormier to be honest. He asked, “Hey man… When will Conor return, DC and who is he gonna fight? Like be honest.”
DC was quick to respond, though. The UFC commentator believed that the ‘Notorious’ would fight against Michael Chandler, this summer. He said, “You gotta be very careful with what you say, but I’m saying. Conor McGregor fights this summer and he fights against Michael Chandler. That’s what I believe… Two years, fights Michael Chandler, International fight week seems to make sense. Two years for an injury of that nature, I think will be enough time [for] fighting Michael Chandler in Las Vegas.”
RC had no choice but to agree that the prediction seemingly made sense. He confirmed that it would be a fight worth watching and one that they must see. Furthermore, he credited Chandler for building himself a strong resume. Finally, he said, “It’s the only fight that makes total sense and I think it’s a fight that Conor will believe he can win, and also believe he could be explosive in and excite the people. And so everything you said to me, DC, makes sense.”
