Dana White’s Contender Series 72 has made it a tradition of amassing awestruck reactions from the fight fans with at least one fight, every single week. And in the 6th week, it was Tallison Teixeira who grabbed the spotlight with his breathtaking one-punch KO victory over Arthur Lopes. Needless to say, even Dana White was left in complete awe of the performance the 6-foot-7 fighter put on.
With just a few seconds past 3 minutes on the clock, Teixeira sent a straight right fist that brought down his opponent. The Brazilian mixed martial artist went on to pound the fallen Lopes, leaving the referee with no choice but to call it quits. This performance greatly impressed the UFC head honcho as he inducted Teixeira into the Ultimate Fighting Championship. But it was the reaction that the UFC boss gave that caught the fighting community’s eye. Even the commentator didn’t miss pointing out White’s reaction to the first-round KO victory. They said, “And Dana White certainly liked what he saw. Almost fell out of his chair.”

Back in week 4, Yuneisy Duben also extracted such a reaction from the UFC CEO.
Dana White couldn’t contain his excitement with DWCS performance
Back when Duben defeated Shannon Clark with just one punch in the very first round of her fight and dominated the Octagon with her hammer fists, White was left utterly flabbergasted. Both the Venezuelan and the Canadian kept exchanging forceful blows, but it was Duben who secured the KO win along with a UFC contract.

It was in the press conference that Dana White revealed the real motivation behind Duben’s performance. He said, “She almost didn’t come, she has no money. She doesn’t have a dollar to her name… The staff has to go and do grocery shopping for her… And then she comes in and does that. I mean, f–king. Let me tell you what, she ain’t broke now… I don’t know what you can do, but we’re gonna let you in and try it. Whatever you can do. I mean, you don’t see women knock women out like that. And the girl she fought was a 13 to 1 favorite!”
From having no money to becoming a UFC prospect, Duben has indeed come a long way from where she began. Along with Teixeira and the others, these new inductees will definitely entertain the fighting community to great extents. What are your thoughts on White’s reaction to Teixeira’s KO victory?
