Paul Felder is not willing to let the comments made by Conor McGregor on his ancestry slide away that easily. Ahead of his fight with Rafael dos Anjos this weekend, Felder didn’t hold back while addressing McGregor’s tweet in which he addressed Felder as a German English.
During the media scrum in the lead up to this weekend’s event, ‘The Irish Dragon’ talked about the time McGregor went after him on Twitter. McGregor had poked fun at the German origins of Felder’s name in a tweet that he later deleted. Felder didn’t mince his words when he addressed the Twitter insults from the former double champ.

“If he’s talking about my name which is more German, then let’s talk about his Scottish name and how he’s Scottish then. Shut the f–k up. … Go blow some lines and shut the f–k up,” Felder said.
Despite the back-and-forth, Felder has a lot of respect for McGregor’s skill set. Having been a cage-side commentator for McGregor’s most recent fight against Donald Cerrone, Felder knows that the energy is something else when McGregor steps foot inside the Octagon.

“Conor McGregor vs. ‘Cowboy’ was a crazy one,” Felder said. “To have that, to see Conor make his walk in front of those crazy crowds, that was definitely something even though he’s in the division and we potentially could face off with each other someday, it was so much fun to be part of that.
“To have him even say, ‘F U to me,’ I believe, from cage-side there, that one stands out.”

Felder is taking the main event fight this weekend against Rafael dos Anjos on very short notice. In the limited time that he had, the UFC lightweight mainly focused on cutting weight. The fact that he was training for a triathlon helped him a lot to stay physical. He will now look to gather a win on a card that he was preparing to commentate on just a week ago.
