Belal Muhammad, the #2 ranked contender, knew he was stepping into the lion’s den when he faced Leon Edwards for the welterweight title at UFC 304. Muhammad admitted that his camp had already strategized what to do in this fight since they knew that Edwards was a striker. He was determined to always be in his opponent’s face from the start of the match because he did not want to give him any space to strike back. He even admitted that as soon as the referee, asked them if they were ready, he started advancing towards Edwards. “But he’s got that one loss,” Rogan noted. “But you know, it’s to Belal too. Belal is f**king good; no one gives him credit. Now when B says, Oh, Brady’s just not very good, ‘ then you find out Brady’s pretty good, and that’s how Belal is. Yeah, Belal is f**king good.” So it is pretty evident that the UFC color commentator already knew what the welterweight champion was capable of. He pointed out that the fighter was training with Khabib, which would elevate his skills to the highest level.

Now Belal Muhammad has won the title and can select from a few prospects for his next fight. Even though people expected him to select Kamaru Usman, he wants a fight with Shavkat Rakhmonov since the latter is undefeated. Who do you think he’s going to fight next? Tell us in the comments below.
