On Tuesday, the PFL announced that Deontay Wilder and Ngannou would face each other in a hybrid rule match in PFL 2024. The match announcement has created a lot of buzz among the fans. Michael Bisping, the former champion, feels the fight is uncalled for. In a recent podcast on YouTube, while speaking to True Geordie, he gives us the story behind the whole matchup.

In the video, Bisping said, “Well, yes, there is talk. Who is that talk by, whatever his name is, Don Davies, the chairman of the PFL and of Bellator? The big thing is they would love to see Ngannou vs. Wilder in some mixed-rules fight. I saw an article from Deontay Wilder yesterday saying he wants to come over to the UFC.”

“He specifically talks about the UFC and how he has a good relationship with Dana White, and I have seen him at the UFC apex on multiple occasions. The fact that he has shown up on the apex would lead me to believe there has been some discussion and negotiations,” he added.

‘The Bronze Bomber’ is one of the most devastating heavyweight boxers in the world at the moment. The boxer hopes to book a heavy-money fight against Anthony Joshua if he defeats Joseph Parker on December 23. With no MMA background in the past, it will be interesting to see how Wilder will face Ngannou in a hybrid-rule fight.
