“Show Up Like Sh*t and Lose…”: BJJ GOAT Gordon Ryan Comes Out Guns Blazing at His Biggest Rival Nicky Rod Ahead of His ADCC Return

Gordon Ryan and Nicky Rodriguez, both Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu legends, have been at odds for years. Their latest exchange has thrown more fuel on the fire as fans eagerly await their ADCC (Abu Dhabi Combat Club) return.

Now, Ryan has taken shots at Nicky Rod yet again. This time, he has accentuated the beef by sharing an untold conversation with ‘Rod.’ Accusing him of being a ‘fraud,’ the BJJ King went a step ahead to reveal a ‘Shhhoockerrr.’ So, what has got Gordon Ryan ‘exposing frauds’ in our beloved fight game? Gordon Ryan vs. Nicky Rod heats up ahead of BJJ expert’s potential ADCC return

Gordon Ryan aka. The BJJ GOAT has not participated in any major competition ever since his win over ‘Rod’ at the UFC Fight Pass Invitational 3. Moreover, over two months back, Rodriguez called out The BJJ expert for being a part of the USADA testing pool. Responding back, Ryan assured the MMA community that he will “have a contract coming to Nicky Rodriguez for USADA and WADA testing.” 

And it seems like Ryan delivered on his promise – as supported by his most recent Instagram post. Taking to his IG handle, the BJJ expert has shared a revealing WhatsApp conversation with ‘Rod.’ 

In the conversation, the duo is seen having a back-and-forth over a ‘simple drug testing agreement’ that Ryan extended to ‘Rod’ – in order for him to be ready for ADCC 2024. But Rodriguez’s response stands out the most. Replying to Ryan’s text, ‘Rod’ declined the offer. He also revealed that he’s only willing to “commit to this for a financial incentive.”

Ryan slammed ‘Rod’ for allegedly demanding $10,000 per clean drug test. Likewise, he claimed that ‘Rod’ prefers to “show up looking like sh*t and lose…” He insinuated that this incentive might encourage Nicky Rod to compete naturally, potentially earning more than the ADCC winnings.

However, this is definitely not the first time that the duo have taken shots at each other. Ryan fired the first shot when he called Nicky Rod a “fraud” after Rodriguez mentioned receiving an offer from WWE. Gordon Ryan disputed claims that Nicky Rod had received offers from WWE and training opportunities with wrestling legends Shawn Michaels and Triple H. The BJJ expert claimed it was he who had secured ‘Rod’s WWE tryout.

Ryan and Rodriguez, two Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu titans, have engaged in fierce BJJ combat twice. In both battles, the BJJ GOAT emerged as the victor. However, their last encounter in the UFC Fight Pass Invitational 3 saw Ryan narrowly escaping defeat. Rodriguez pushed him into EBI overtime and even managed to inflict damage with a bone-chilling heel hook attempt.

But the animosity between these BJJ stars doesn’t stay confined to the octagon. Outside of fights, their exchanges often take an aggressive turn. After their second bout in the UFC Fight Pass Invitational, Gordon Ryan accused Rodriguez of “greasing.” In retaliation, Nicky Rodriguez accused Ryan of steroid use, making it a central point of contention in their ongoing feud.
