The UFC 310 co-main fight between Shavkat Rakhmonov and Ian Garry might not have entertained the fight fans to the extent they were hoping for. But it sure did include quite a bit of drama in the fight. As Rakhmonov won his first-ever fight via a unanimous decision and proceeded to face off against the welterweight champion, Belal Muhammad inside the Octagon, the MMA realm was busy weighing in on Garry’s wardrobe malfunction.
‘Nomad’ was a bit too focused on submitting Garry, so he kept pushing the Irish fighter to the fence. During the scuffle in the middle of the 4th round, Garry got his shorts stuck in the cage and ripped the blue trunks from the back side. Joe Rogan and Daniel Cormier pointed out that it happened because the Irishman’s shorts got caught in the fence. Needless to say, this garnered quite a bit of attention from the fighting community.
Amy Kaplan, the famed expert behind the camera tweeted, “I kinda feel like this shouldn’t be allowed. What do you think?” Even Chael Sonnen was left flabbergasted. He took to X and wrote, “I don’t have volume. What happened w the trunks?”
