Sean O’Malley got swatted recently, which resulted in the police holding him at gunpoint. ‘ Swatting, of course, refers to the act of calling the police on someone and falsely claiming they are violent, armed, and in the process of committing or have committed a crime. And the same happened to O’Malley, as he was peacefully live-streaming in his home on Saturday.

According to the champion, someone reported to the police that he was armed and had killed his parents, which led the cops to swarm his property. On his TimboSuga show with his coach Tim Welch on YouTube, ‘Suga’ recalled watching a bunch of cops out of the window as he was streaming, and getting alarmed at it.

The next moment, the police were “on the intercom and I see a bunch of cops, and they’re like ‘Walk out with your hands up.’ So I f**ing walk out, hands up,” which he proceeded to do immediately. The UFC champ told his co-host and coach that he decided “I’m just going to listen” as otherwise, I could get shot.” ‘Suga’ recounted doing as the cops told him, but still feared getting accidentally shot as he was afraid that there was a possibility that “someone sneezes, [and accidentally] pulls the trigger [since] I’ve got shotguns pointed at me. AR(-15)’s from like four different cops.”

Many would assume that seeing him cooperate and that he doesn’t pose any mortal threat to them, the cops would have eased up. But that was not the case, as his ordeal continued for about three-quarters of an hour.

Sean O’Malley used getting swatted to ‘meditate”

As soon as he came out of his home, the cops, according to O’Malley, proceeded to have him get on the ground. Seeing that he was not armed, they allowed him to get up and walk, with his hands up and back to the cops, towards them.

They then secured him in handcuffs and put the Montana native in the back of a cop car as they investigated the situation further. While none of the original contingent of cops knew about O’Malley (which he admitted he was hoping for), things changed when a second wave of police officers arrived at his home and told the others who Sean O’Malley was.

Ultimately, after around an hour, he was able to get out of the hairy situation without sustaining any damage, and surprisingly, he claimed that he used the high-pressure, life-threatening situation as a chance to meditate. “I just used it as a meditation, ‘cuz it’s moments like those that bring you into the present tense so much,” he told Welch.
