Rosie O’Donnell started off things, questioning Rogan, “How long have you been married?”. Initially, Rogan was confused as he replied, “On paper? 2 years”. O’Donnell asked, “Not on paper?”, to which Rogan said that he and his wife had been together for “quite a while.”
The host continued, “She’s the mother of your three children?”. Rogan replied, “Yes, but one of them is not my biological kid, the fifteen-year-old”. He was talking about his stepdaughter, ‘Kayja Rose, who is currently a famous singer. O’Donnell wanted to know if Rogan had “adopted” his then 15-year-old daughter. Rogan answered that it was his “wife’s child“.
The host further questioned Rogan and wanted to know how Rogan felt “being a co-parent or stepparent of a teen”. She also stated how stepparenting a teen was “quite a challenge” for her.

Rogan further iterated how “having conversations with her” was really important so that she never felt alienated. He also mentioned, “she should never feel like no one’s taking into consideration what her opinion of something is”.
These conversations were probably the reason behind Rogan’s wholesome stepparenting experience. He said, “So we have like this really cool conversations which for a 15-year-old I think is pretty unusual. She’s very smart. She’s an awesome kid.”
