Joe Rogan has often taken immense pride in showcasing his true self to the viewers of his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience. He recently mentioned certain people who tend to mask their true selves, which talk show hosts and media personalities are accused of doing. To explain that, Rogan took the example of a once famous talk show host, Ellen DeGeneres, and how she lost her relevance in the showbiz.

Absolutely no other talk show host came near Ellen DeGeneres when she was at the peak of her popularity and her success was evident because The Ellen Show went on for 19 seasons. However, after accusations were laid on her about creating a toxic workplace, and with many people coming out to speak about it, her show ceased to exist and Joe Rogan seems well aware of what DeGeneres went through.

“There’s always that suspicion when you see someone on television that they’re not really that way… like the Ellen [DeGeneres] situation,” Joe Rogan stated on the #2258 episode of JRE. “People found out that Ellen was mean and all these people came out and said, ‘Ellen’s actually a b*tch’, and every [one] can’t believe it.”

The allegations of mistreatment on Ellen DeGeneres not only ended her show, but her career in showbiz also took a major hit. Joe Rogan, meanwhile, also revealed one of his friends, who worked for Ellen, had the exact same sentiment as the people who accused the talk show host. “She lost everything,” Rogan added. “Fell apart. Disappeared because people found out that the character that she was portraying half an hour on a television show was not really who she was.” For a while now, Ellen DeGeneres had been out of the public eye, but recently she surfaced to the attention of the netizens online as she moved away from the United States.

Ellen DeGeneres resurfaces after a long time

As 2024 came to an end, Ellen DeGeneres and her partner Portia de Rossi apparently moved to the United Kingdom. It was their retirement move as reported by a source to the Daily Mail, “Make no mistake about it. This is DeGeneres and Portia’s retirement. Neither one of them have any projects lined up.” Her personal Instagram account mostly shares posts related to her 19-season-long talk show. But it was a surprise when the 66-year-old posted a picture last month along with her partner after finalizing their UK move.

While celebrating the fact that Ellen and Portia completed 20 years together, the former talk show host said, “So happy we get to travel and explore the world together in the next 20 years, and looking forward to our first snowy Christmas.” Moreover, DeGeneres is reportedly looking to sell her last remaining L.A. homes, and that too, at a major discount.
