The rumors of Ronda Rousey’s UFC return have gained traction ever since Jon Anik floated the idea. A perfect opportunity has presented itself as the women’s bantamweight division needs an enforcer after the retirement of Amanda Nunes. While fans may be eager to see her back in the octagon UFC commentator John McCarthy believes Ronda Rousey has fulfilled her fighting career.
Six years have elapsed since ‘Rowdy’ last entered the Octagon. Her MMA career came to an abrupt end when she suffered a second consecutive knockout loss. Her reign of dominance collapsed when Holly Holm first knocked her out at UFC 193. Afterward, the former Olympic medalist was a mere shadow of herself when she challenged ‘The Lioness’. Soon she closed the doors on her MMA career and transitioned to WWE. Therefore, ‘Big John’ feels the time is ripe for Ronda to turn over a new leaf.

A new life awaits Ronda Rousey away from fighting
The 60-year-old sat down with Josh Thomson on Weighing In #377 and touched upon the rumors that have engulfed the combat sports world. The former UFC fighter simply brushed aside the idea as “crazy”. On the other hand, the Bellator commentator asked whether it was a good idea if Ronda makes a comeback and is slotted in for a title fight, despite spending the better half of the last decade not fighting.

Further, McCarthy shunned the parallel with Georges St-Pierre, who made a similar comeback. He said, “She ain’t Georges St-Pierre motherf*cker.”
“If she wants to come back, I’d be surprised that she wants to come back. She’s got a whole life, and she’s made a ton of money. And she can do whatever she want,” he added later.
The former UFC personnel then mentioned she had a husband and a child to look after. Further, she also had her Browsey Acres, where she was functional. He thus suggested, “And when you’re talking about fighting, now it’s about time. Time away from all of that.”
After spending decades in the MMA industry, the LA native understands the pull of lofty paychecks. He warns the 36-year-old to not be enticed by those heavy paychecks. Instead, he urged her to take up the life of a farmer.
McCarthy advises Ronda to not chase dollar bills
He stated, ” Dana [White] would pay her a sh*load. Sh*tload. But it probably wouldn’t be the smart thing for her to do. She’s got a great life. Great career in the UFC. Great career in the WWE. Walk away and be a farmer.”
