UFC returned to the Apex for their Fight Night show as they put ranked lightweight contenders in the main event of UFC Vegas 57. But before the headliner, a young welterweight prospect, Shavkat Rakhmonov, was up against veteran Neil Magny.
Rakhmonov got an impressive submission win over the Elevation Fight Team standout, Magny. And he called out another veteran UFC welterweight fighter after a definitive showing in the co-main event.

The 34-year-old, Magny, held his ground in the first round, but the young athlete put too much pressure on him.
‘Nomad‘ started the first round strong to put ‘Haitian Sensation‘ on the ground. But the veteran welterweight showed his grappling skills and held on to a leg of Rakhmonov and threatened with leg locks. Despite giving the top position, Magny ended the first five minutes without taking much damage.

The Uzbekistan-born athlete put down the American welterweight to the canvas in the second round as well. The 27-year-old, Rakhmonov, showed his grappling prowess and dominated Magny.
Rakhmonov finished the bout after the 10-second clap at the end of round 2 via a guillotine submission. Subsequently, the young welterweight sent a message to UFC President Dana White and Stephen ‘Wonderboy‘ Thompson.
Shavkat Rakhmonov is ready for title contention
The former M-1 Global welterweight champion told UFC President he will be a future UFC champion.
The Kazakhstan-based athlete dominated everyone the promotion has put in front of him. And after snapping Magny’s two-fight winning streak, Rakhmonov, in the post-fight Octagon interview, revealed his favorable next opponent.

The streaking welterweight wants to face the former two-time welterweight title challenger, the 39-year-old, Stephen Thompson. Although he is ready for other challenges, the promotion will offer him.
