Joe Rogan’s podcast transcends its roots in combat sports to claim universal recognition. With a staggering fortune of $120 million, this UFC commentator and podcast luminary enjoys a lavish lifestyle. What genuinely sets his podcast apart is his adeptness at conversing with individuals hailing from diverse backgrounds, displaying a remarkable indifference to any specific demographics or affiliations.

Rogan, with a goal to dedicate more attention to his podcast, decided to step away from UFC commentary for events held outside of the USA. Nevertheless, there is now a touch of concern due to the Canadian government introducing a bill aimed at regulating streaming.

In a recent proclamation from the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission, the mandatory registration of online streamers and podcasters has ignited a surge of perplexity and unease. This development has instigated worries concerning the potential augmentation of regulatory measures.

The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission made a noteworthy declaration. They prescribed that online streaming and podcasting platforms, amassing annual revenues of $10 million or more within Canada, must fulfill their registration obligations with the Commission by the 28th of November.

Joe Rogan was steadfast to react upon this news. While having a conversation with Francis Foster & Konstantin Kisin from Triggernometry on JRE #2043, he added that the Canadian government is regulating the streaming platforms.

Foster was quick to add his assessments to it. He stated “I was reading about what they’re doing, and it’s terrifying. So, they want to bring in this bill whereby they regulate podcasts. What they want to do is, every podcast streamer or whatever it is, a platform that makes more than $10 million in revenue (not profit, but revenue), has to register with the Canadian government. They then want them to hand over information about their content and the people listening to their right to the government.”

Even Elon Musk was shocked by Justin Trudeu’s decision to rule out this bill. The CEO of  Tesla took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his opinion. he added, ” Trudeau is trying to crush free speech in Canada. Shameful.”.
